Big mountains of Giro d’Italia’s second week

Tadej Pogacar climbing Monte Grappa during Giro d'Italia 2024

If you used to watch grand tours for their cruel mountains stages and monstrous ascents, I’m afraid, the second week of Giro d’Italia 2025 is still not for you. All the real, spectacular hilltop finishes left for the third week.

After the individual time trial, Stage 10, at the beginning of the second week, Stage 11 provides a significantly more climbing in the form and shape of Alpe San Pellegrino in the middle of the stage. However, Stage 11 is still far from a classic grand tour mountain stage.

Even more far from a shape and form of a mountain stage is Stage 12 and Stage 13 and Stage 14. Of course, in this new modern “golden age” of road cycling races every kilometer can turn into an exciting story, but the possibilities are bigger during the last week to see some spectacular racing.

A little sneak peek of the mountain stages will be showed during Stage 15.  Monte Gappa is in the program of Giro d’Italia again. But unlike last year, this time only once and in the middle of the stage.
